Indeed, if time and experience were supposed to have duller Rose or made her partially robotic, then they had failed. She was a vibrant young woman, both naturally and intentionally. She could be the serious vampire when she needed to be, and she could be what she was being now when she wanted to. This was part of why she considered vampires to be humans first and foremost. Though they lived longer and found their sustenance in a strange way, at the core of who she was would forever be a nineteen-year-old woman (and all the intricacies there within).
Rose types without clarifying. He didn't have a phone number, but she did, so she put hers in and decided she'd go the extra mile to intercede for him in that way. Werewolves were humans too, after all.
"You know," Rose said quietly while typing, "you're better of finding an in by getting to know someone. It's all about who you know in small towns." That was precisely why she had such a good standing in Silverdale. She was pleasant, easily to talk to, and knew how to flirt when necessary. Victor couldn't use all the same tactics, but making a friend in the department would only help him.

He scoffed. "Yeah, I know how small towns work. They work against newcomers."
The words were bitter, but his voice was still light. Truth was, Silverdale has provided a kindly reception to his pack. In fact, the biggest opposition and the biggest surprise was the complete rejection from the home-team werewolf pack. The violence of wolf against wolf had shaken Vic, but over the years he'd simply stopped seeing them as part of the town--even as part of civilization. If they wanted to act like territorial monsters, that was how he was going to treat them.
"I don't have quite the genteel social circle to cap-it-alize on," he continued in a mock-Southern drawl.
He continued, more earnestly, "But I'm strong and I'm fast and I'm not the dumbest kid on the block, and I'll start at the bottom and I'll work my way to the top."
He grinned and waggled his eyebrows. "Unless you know a guy."
